Here is truly the last post on my TurboTax issue...
I tried one last time to convince them that their program led me down the incorrect path, but they trotted out their same excuse that I must be dumb as a brick to have committed the error I committed. Apparently no other users ever have a problem with TurboTax...
Did I say they were professional in their response? I take that back as well. Essentially, the response was professional in the use of grammar, etc., but essentially calling your customers stupid is far from professional.
I'm too tired to keep fighting a charge of a few hundred dollars, and every new response from Anita just gets my blood boiling again.
Here is my bottom line to everyone out there in blog-land. I STRONGLY advise not to use TurboTax to do your tax preparation. In my opinion, they do not stand behind their user interface at all and will blame you for any error in using their product. I will be going back to using H&R TaxCut. It may not look as pretty as TurboTax, but it always did the job RIGHT.
P.S. - To Bob Meighan: I have deleted all of your comments and will continue to remove your comments in the future. While I can not do anything to make your company repay the money I lost, I am under no obligation to give you space on my website to push your side of the story. If you wish to stay and contribute to the weight loss discussion, please do so. From what I can gather though, your paid job is to seek out negative TurboTax comments on the web and attempt to refute them. I'm pretty sure this must be a full time job that hopefully pays overtime for you.

I have an idea...Everything you THINK, TYPE, or SAY the word TurboTax, you have to drop and do 5 push ups! It will accomplish 2 things: 1) You'll be at your push up goal in no time 2) It will help you burn off some steam as a result of the TT Team.
ETA...so based on this post, you owe yourself 40 push ups! :)
Jeff... I regret that you removed my posts. Apparently you don't believe in embracing an exchange of ideas and opinions. While you may continue to believe you are right, I encourage others to do the right thing and discover for themselves how you may have arrived at your tax predicament. By the way, your tax assessment is not money you "lost". It is money you were legally obligated to pay with your original return.
We embrace blogs and user forums. We don't remove posts simply because they don't portray TurboTax in a positive light. No, we look at all feedback with the intent of learning from it and improving the products. Criticism is an input to our development process.
My job is to ensure we produce the best products possible and keep our customers satisfied. When I happen upon a TurboTax post to which I can constructively respond, I do so. It's not in my job description, but it's something all company respresentatives should do, but few ever do. If I can help one customer, then I've done something worthwhile.
I left you a voicemail message this morning offering to help you get to the bottom of this issue. You have my number if you wish to pursue this. Now that I have your mailing address I will be sending you 2005 TurboTax that I promised so you can seek out the truth for yourself.
I trust in the spirit of fair play that you will not remove this post.
Best of luck on your battle to lose weight.

Hi Jeff,
I've heard that negative stress can lead to an increase in appetite and that would probably be contrary to your 50/50 goal. So, we'd like to help you meet your goal by removing that stress :) Please feel free to email me at jgriggs@hrblock.com and we'll get you a free copy of TaxCut and I think we can get a copy of MS Money from our friends at Microsoft as well.
50/50 is an admirable goal and since I could use some weight loss as well, but can't seem to get motivated - well, this is the next best thing.
All the best,
John

Hi, Jeff,
I'm an Associated Press reporter working on a story about people who have had problems with TurboTax. If you'd be willing to have a quick conversation, please drop me a line at dramde(at)ap.org. Thanks.
